These two Drums pictured below are made from the same Hemlock tree. The tree was reclaimed from a clear-cut site. It had been cut and left for waste. The tree grew for more than 360 years!!(What was happening in Nova Scotia in 1647?) These drums represent that history (of North America). They have been hollowed with hot embers, a process which took the artist weeks of burning and scraping. The result is two perfectly seasoned solid wood drums that have a tone of astounding warmth and depth. The top for the tongue drum is made from a piece of solid maple that the artist found washed up on the beach. It was bone white and rang like a bell when the artist kicked a small stone at it. Each tongue has its own unique sound. Some tongues are percussive whereas the others are very melodic. Both of these drums sound amazing when amplified through a P.A. or in a recording studio. To hear these beautiful instruments, simply email the artist and he will send you an audio visual clip.

This Drum is carved from a solid piece of eastern white pine. It is 30" x 24" x 24". It is skinned using one entire hide of a white tailed deer. Both tree and deer are from the woods of Nova Scotia. The drum has a deep thunderous boom. $1200 cdn.  Sold
